Digital Twin 3D Tours
SEACOMP, a company that helps its customers manufacture their products, has been using XR to build, maintain, and approve relationships with its customers. Because SEACOMP serves innovative companies building the latest in technology, it makes sense that they deploy the latest and greatest technology in their own services.
For example, before the pandemic, the company established trust with its open-door policy. Any customer-side stakeholder was welcome to visit the factory. This helped build trust and show transparency. SEACOMP maintains that open-door policy, now through 3D walkthroughs.
SEACOMP worked with Matterport, a spatial data company, to develop accurate 3D digital twins of its manufacturing facility and offices. The company says it’s saving $250,000 per year in employee and customer travel costs.
While the original purposes were in marketing and sales, the digital twins have helped onboard new employees and are useful for measuring and analyzing new production lines and reconfiguring the factory floor.
SEACOMP is seeing big benefits from XR and expects to continue to build out additional capabilities.
