ICYMI: Top Energy Drone & Robotics Stories for July
July flew by, but here we are. Time for our recap of top Energy Drone & Robotics stories from the last month.
EDR Summit Recap
The 2023 Energy Drone & Robotics Summit—our 7th annual—took place in June. People loved the event, and they loved the recap, too. We heard from happy attendees about their experiences, shared session recaps from industry experts, and released on-demand access to recorded sessions.
“This conference is like a mini Swiss Army knife - small in size, but packed with sharp insights, problem-solving goodies, and debates on today's hottest issues.” - Phil Mann, AirWise Solutions
Good on ya, Phil. Here’s the full recap.
State of Visual Inspection Report
Percepto released a report on the state of video inspection technology—namely drones, robotics and AI—at industrial sites. It includes results from surveys that show current adoption of robots and drones in visual inspections, goals for visual inspection programs, data analysis from inspection outputs, and more.
Robots Make Sens(ors)
Our final top story from July is all about how combining finely tuned sensors with autonomous robots can revolutionize site inspections and safety. MFE Inspection Solutions combines Boston Dynamics Spot robots and the Teledyne FLIR MUVE C360 air gas monitor to autonomously inspect hazardous environments for the smallest traces of gas.
In field tests, the sensing robots have successfully initialized shut-downs when dangerous gasses were present, allowing humans to quickly fix the issue and get back up and running.
