U.S. Patent Office to Fastrack Green Tech
/The U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) announced a program to accelerate patent applications involving innovations to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
The new Climate Change Mitigation Pilot Program will allow qualifying applications to “advance out of turn for examination (granted special status) until a first action on the merits—typically the first substantive examination—is complete.”
The program will be open until June 5, 2023, or when 1,000 applications have been granted special status, whichever happens first.
Green really does mean go.
