Session Recap: Money & Markets: What’s Hot Today and Tomorrow for Robotics/Drones
/At this year’s Energy Drone & Robotics Summit, we got to hear all about how the robotics market, and the money within it, is distributed. In his session called, “Money & Markets: What’s Hot Today and Tomorrow for Robotics/Drones - Analyst Perspective,” Hendrik Bödecker, CFO & Co-Founder of Drone Industry Insights, talked about just that.

The Global Drone Market
In his presentation, Bödecker started off by sharing stats on the global drone market, including numbers from 2022 to 2030.
He said, “Generally what we observe is that it's [the market is] growing—the adoption rate is growing so clients see what the added value is.”
When it comes to investments within the industry, Bödecker said:
“You will see that there was a change coming and the investment data increased, increased, increased. We got a lot of public listings in 2021. 2022 was a bad year for investments, not only for drones, but generally… But this number [2023 investments] is also four times higher or five times higher than at the beginning. So that still it's a good sign that people are interested in acquiring good drone companies.”
The session also covered market share and growth, including hardware brands, both leading and niche.
“The niche brands are exploding currently,” said Bödecker.
