XR Training is Effective and Here to Stay
/As immersive technology continues to find its stride at enterprises around the world, it has gained the most traction, and provided the most benefits, in the area of training, learning, and professional development.
XR helps in hard skills training—hazardous situation simulation, equipment operation, safety, machine repair—as well as in soft skills training—leadership, communication, problem solving.
And in one of the most cited studies on XR training, PwC’s “The Effectiveness of Virtual Reality Soft Skills Training in the Enterprise,” the results were promising. Compared to trainers learning through classroom and online training, VR learners were:
4X faster to train than classroom learners
275% more confident applying learned skills after training
3.75X more emotionally connected to the content
4X more focused than online learners
XR training programs are being used in a lot of different ways, from helping overcome worker shortages and advanced safety training to hazardous situation simulation and 3D equipment practice.

Enterprises continue to find effective applications for XR training. Coca-Cola uses VR training to improve safety and reduce accidents and BMW uses VR to train employees in design and prototyping.
Maybe if I had had XR in college, I wouldn’t have fallen asleep in all my 8 a.m. classes.
