Down to Business on Industrial XR

Last week, we talked about the growing opportunities in the industrial metaverse

Today, we step back and look at industrial immersive tech more holistically, bringing in XR, VR, AR, and MR—that’s extended reality, virtual reality, augmented reality, and mixed reality.

Immersive technology markets are expected to grow to $37 billion and could reach up to $114.5 billion by 2027

Enterprises are using XR to engage customers, foster collaboration, streamline operations, and more.

  • NVIDIA is working with Siemens to build digital twins of factories for major manufacturers

  • Varjo Technologies, Autodesk, and Adobe are working on cloud-based VR collaboration platforms

  • Vuzix has its M-400 smart glasses on the market, which allow hands-free, remote guidance and communication

  • Lenovo’s ThinkReality VRX aims to help enterprises boost workplace efficiency and training

Enterprises looking to adopt immersive technology should have clear goals, outcomes, and measurements for new programs. Early XR adopters are seeing strong ROI with focused program implementation.

And just like last week, I’ll have Mulan songs in my head all day.
